The last stop of the day was Fort Ilocandia
It is a resort and hotel which was known to be only built by Former President Ferdinand Marcos for his daughter’s reception on her wedding day.
There are three huge chandeliers that glisten from the ceiling when you enter the main lobby. And when you head to your rooms, you can see the red brick architecture of the resort and further in the distance is the South China Sea.
As day become night, the stars come out to play, and what a perfect way to enjoy it with a bonfire.

Next to our itinerary was to visit the Malacanang of the North which was the residence of Former President Ferdinand Marcos and his family whenever he decided to visit his Ilocos Hometown.
As you enter the palace, you start to imagine the days when these walls were used to welcome delegates from all parts of the world, the lavish parties, the beautiful gowns and actually think of what secrets they may hold.
And in this residence was where President Ferdinand Marcos declared the infamous Martial Law.
Further into the halls, you will see a stunning view of the lake and a vast golf range
More to come.
As some of you know, I recently won a pair of “Dudus” by Shoe Designer, Brian Tenorio via Design Para Sa Lahat (DPSL).
I never expected to win. My intention was simply help promote the show, DPSL and all of the sudden, I won!
Design Para Sa Lahat,
The first and only DESIGN x BIZ x TRAVEL show on Philippine TV, Saturdays 11:30am GMA News TV
If you want to more about the show, just click on the link below.
Once again, thank you Brian and Design Para sa Lahat!
Vigan simply amazed me.
I have heard of the Spanish Colonial Houses that they have but I never expected it to be well preserved. The Heritage town is this long strip of these houses where you will feel like you have been transported to the time of the Spanish Era.
The hotel that we stayed in was the Hotel Felicidad. They gave new life to one of houses and gave it a modern Filipino touch specifically in the bathroom which made Vigan more enjoyable.
We then strolled around the town “Kalesa” Style!
We went to the Burgos Ancestral Home and Museum, a Weaving factory and the Bell / Watch tower which could overlook from the Cordilerra Mountains all the way to the South China Sea.
And I’m really looking forward to revisit Vigan soon.
One of our first stops was the Aquino Center in Luisita, Tarlac.
This center holds memorabilias of one of the known heroes in Philippine History which you can find the 500 Phil. Peso Bill, Ninoy Aquino and his wife Cory Aquino.
The photo above is an actual replica of the room where Ninoy was held in solitary confinement.
There is more to see like art pieces of Cory, the actual clothing of Ninoy when he was shot, and other things about them.
More to come.

What a great way to start the year by going back to your roots.
Went to two farms that day. One of my Grandfather’s which is also our ancestral home and my Aunt’s high school friend.
The fresh air was delightful and the scenery was a treat for the eyes.
I could say it was a Sweet Escape.
There is more to come in this adventure.
As part of my Grandfather’s wish, the family will be doing something differently and that is the whole clan will be having a Luzon Adventure.
I will be showing highlights of the trip in the coming days.
